Coating Resins

Arkema, through its Coating Resins business unit, develops and manufactures coating resins and additives for a variety of end use applications, including powder coatings, traffic paints, transportation, marine, building and construction and more.  Products such as Encor® Flex 192 provide long-lasting weatherability for tough, trying climates.  Arkema Coating Resins' SNAP® technology, found in SNAP® 728 acrylic latex, provide an ammonia-free composition with superior block resistance and outstanding dirt pick-up resistance.  SNAP®-based products are also known for their excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates.

Kynar® PVDF coatings

Fluoropolymers, given their unique chemical and physical properties, provide numerous benefits, including resistance against water and abrasion, as well as insulation against flames.  Due to their distinct chemical and physical properties, Arkema has adapted its line of PVDF resins as the ideal coating solution.  From Spaceport America in New Mexico, to Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia, Kynar 500® FSF® and Kynar Aquatec® architectural coatings protect some of the most unique architecture in North America.

 

In addition to architectural coatings, Kynar® PVDF resins have been used in a variety of dispersion, dissolution and spray coating methods, providing exceptional coatings for automotive, industrial, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and semiconductor applications.

Certincoat® hot-end coatings

Arkema’s Certincoat® XE Series Hood is a technological advancement for both hot-end glass coatings and cold-end glass coatings, reducing maintenance, downtime and operating costs.  This next-generation Certincoat® innovation results in operational efficiency and customer ease-of-use. The upgraded hood includes improvements to slot distribution, the recirculation loop, and a new feed port system and results in decreased cleaning time and frequency of cleaning. All it takes for job-change hood adjustments is a single pocket wrench.

 

Produced to Arkema’s specifications for a variety of local markets in the Americas, the uniform layer of tin oxide that is applied to the outer surface of glass containers provides a variety of benefits:

Coatex rheology additives

Coatex is a leading designer and manufacturer of water-based rheology additives for coatings. As a subsidiary of Arkema, Coatex additives are powerful in small quantities, with a few drops providing benefits such as uniform color, opacity and even finish. Coatex's line of water-based dispersants and thickeners provide performance throughout the coatings market from production and storage, to final performance.
