Arkema Coating Resins will increase prices of all CRAYVALLAC® additives sold globally by 7% to 10% - effective December 1, 2017, or as contracts allow, to offset the impact of key raw material increases, which have been driven by tightness in supply.

Bostik, the Specialty Adhesives business line of Arkema, continues to expand its manufacturing capacities with the opening of a new facility in Gujarat. Together with its existing plant in Bangalore, the new plant will serve the fast growing demand in India for adhesives in industrial markets.

Arkema will increase fluoropolymer (Kynar® PVDF) capacity at its Calvert City plant in the United States by some 20%. The expansion is fueled by strong demand in the new energies and water management markets as well as in more traditional applications (chemical process industry and high performance cables). In the wake of the recent flooding in Texas and more specifically on the Crosby site, Arkema reflects on those events. Arkema reaffirms its solidarity with the local community affected by Hurricane Harvey.
At the Arkema Inc. site in Crosby, Texas, there is clear visual evidence that the chemicals in the trailers are degrading but they have failed to ignite completely. We are concerned that, without ignition, we can’t determine if the hazard has been fully eliminated.
Around 5:05 p.m. (CDT), representatives of the Harris County Emergency Operation Center observed multiple dark plumes of smoke coming from the Arkema Inc. plant in Crosby, Texas. Shortly thereafter, fire was observed at the plant.
At approximately 2 a.m. CDT, we were notified by the Harris County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) of two explosions and black smoke coming from the Arkema Inc. plant in Crosby, Texas. Local officials had previously established an evacuation zone in an area 1.5 miles from our plant, based on their assessment of the situation.

Arkema announces the acquisition by Bostik of CMP Specialty Products, the flooring and floor preparation business of US based specialist CGM. This business, which generated U$15 million sales in 2016, offers strong synergies with Bostik.
